REOPENING IN-PERSON SERVICE

Here in early 2021, there is growing hope now that vaccines are becoming increasingly available - and also ongoing concerns, both in Washington State and across the nation. While doing what we can to further our mission as a church family and to slowly re-open more of our in-person ministry programs, services, etc., NLF remains mindful of WA State and King/Snohomish County health guidelines and requirements. In light of that, we're constantly assessing what we're doing, how we're doing it, and refining our ministry programs accordingly. We are eagerly expectant to be meeting in-person again here in 2021.

WHY SHOULD WE MEET IN-PERSON?

We were designed for community, connection and to worship Jesus together. Without the ability to physically meet, there has been not only a pandemic caused by COVID-19, but also, an emotional/spiritual pandemic in the Church. This has been more difficult to navigate due to the unseen effects of emotional/spiritual unhealthy. As we navigated this past year and when to reopen, we followed the E.S.C. (Emotional, Spiritual, and Caution) approach.

Emotional

Emotional pandemic. Due to social distancing, isolation, and the other effects of this season, 1 in 4 young adults have struggled with suicidal ideation since the start of the pandemic (CDC).

Spiritual

Spiritual pandemic. According to Barna, 30% of people left the church. “Let us not neglect the habit of meeting together …” Hebrews 10:25 (NLT). The spiritual pandemic is difficult to see but has taken a great toll on Christians.

Caution

Caution has always been on the forefront of our church. We’ve been conservative in our approach and for those that feel uneasy about attending in service, online worship will always be available. We believe with Washington moving into Phase 3, vaccine rollouts increasing and with advanced safety precautions we can keep our church and community safe.
