To become a Christ-Centered community that expands the Kingdom of God by making disciples.
We Live Out Our Vision Through
-
→ Christ-Centered
The Bible’s singular goal is to proclaim Christ. From Genesis to Revelation, all of Scripture points to Christ. We cannot be a Christ-Centered community without being a people of the Word. We believe a growing disciple is one who reads the Word regularly, Worships Christ weekly through the gathering and listening to God’s Word preached and praying persistently to Christ.
-
→ Community
A disciple cannot grow alone. Jesus met with twelve disciples and did not task them to do it alone. We believe disciples meet together to do the “one another’s of Scripture – to exhort, encourage, rebuke, love and bear one another’s burdens. In addition, community is not simply about being good friends, but it’s about being bound together by Christ and his Word.
-
→ Expands the Kingdom of God
A disciple works for the Kingdom of God. This involves creating a world by sharing the good news of Christ and welcoming new believers, bringing about justice, good and peace. New Life Fellowship seeks to create a Kingdom within a Kingdom. A city within a city. This is a key element often missed in our churches. As citizens of heaven, we should seek to bring the city of God to the city of men. In order to grow in discipleship, we must participate in this kingdom expansion.
What We Believe
Holy Scriptures.
We believe the Holy Bible to be inspired, infallible, and without error in the original manuscripts. They authoritative and sufficient for both salvation and sanctification. The Bible is a supreme revelation from God, superior to conscience and reason, though not contrary to reason. The Word of God is inspired equally in all parts and verbally inspired in every word.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17)
Nature of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally present in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God the Father directs salvation. Jesus, the Son of God, accomplishes salvation. The Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son applies salvation
(Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16–17; John 1:1–4)
Sinfulness of Man.
We believe that man was created in the image of God. Our first parents, being seduced and tempted by Satan, sinned, in eating the forbidden fruit. By this sin, they fell from their original righteousness and communion with God and so became dead in sin, and wholly defiled in all the parts and faculties of soul and body. As a result of sin, we are lost and powerless to save ourselves.
(Genesis 3:6, 7, 8, 13; Romans 3:23; Jer. 17:9 Eph 2:1)
Redemption Through Christ.
We believe that the only hope for man is to believe in Jesus Christ, the virgin-born Son of God; fully God and fully man. On the cross, Jesus Christ, the only redeemer, paid for the power and penalty of sin by taking our place. He fully satisfied the justice of his Father; and purchased, not only reconciliation, but an everlasting inheritance in the kingdom of heaven, for all those whom the Father has given to Him. Mankind is redeemed through faith in Christ’s life, death and resurrection.
(Romans 3:25; 5:19; 10:9-10,13; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:1-10)
Eternal Life.
We believe that eternal life in heaven is the reward of all who believe and receive Christ as their Lord. According to the Scriptures: “For God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”.
(John 3:16)
Return of Christ.
We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, the consummation of the Kingdom of God and the restoration of everything, as He promised long ago through His holy prophets.
(Matthew 24:42–44; Acts 1:11, 3:19–21; Revelation 11:15)
Body of Christ.
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, both universal and local, and is composed of a community elected for eternal life, united by faith in Jesus Christ, and have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that Christ Jesus is the Head and Lord of the Church. The mission of the Church is worship, local and global evangelism, discipleship, and the nurturing and care of one another.
(Matthew 28:18–20; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 2:19–22)
